This device is extremely suited to measuring intraocular pressure on less compliant patients (such as children and mentally ill patients), but it is also used by GPs, optometrists, professional healthcare services and other medical staff. The Icare tonometer is based on a new measuring principle, in which a very light probe is used to make brief contact with the cornea. The measurement is barely noticeable for the patient. The procedure consists of 6 measurements from which an average is taken. The Icare Tonometer is supplied in a stylish, shock absorbing aluminium case with the required probes, batteries and manual.
